Lois and Clark or Superman Status
How long have you been watching L&C?
Since it's debut
How long have you been a fan of Superman?
Since I was a very young child. I remember running up and down the aisle of the movie theatre with a red napkin tied to my neck when my parents took me to see the first Superman--I was four.
How long have you been writing?
I started writing a story in High School. It was going to be a science fiction epic. I never did finish it but now that I'm older, I'd like to get back to it soon.
How long have you been writing L&C fanfic?
Haven't quite finished my first story yet, but I guess I started posting it back in March of this year.
What types of Fanfic have you written?
I've written a few Star Trek stories and now this Lois and Clark.
Most recent story posted? Where?
Survival of the Significant at the Lois and Clark fanfic site.
Favorite story you have written? Why?
The favorite story I have written is probably my L & C story. Why? I just feel that it's come out very well, in fact, sometimes when I'm writing it just keeps going and I don't exactly know why.
Current project/projects?
Still finishing S.O.S. It's just about finished. I think perhaps two more parts.
Personal picks of other Fanfics you have read?
I enjoyed Erin Krigler's Accidental Husband. I really haven't had too much chance to read many others but I would like to.
General Interview Questions
What attracted you to writing Fanfic and what about it do you enjoy?
When I found the Lois and Clark website, I was so excited because I never realized there was such a large following of the show. When the show ended I thought, well, that's it, no more Lois and Clark. But then I realized we could continue to write and read about their adventures and a great show could live on.
What about the L&C and the characters do you like the most?
Being a Superman fan for such a long time, I felt that the series portrayed these legendary characters better than any representation I'd ever seen. I can really see who Lois and Clark and Perry and Jimmy, Lex and Martha and Jonathan really are and always have been in the comics finally come to life on the screen.
How do you interpret them in your work?
I try to interpret them the way they've been created for us on the show. I personally like to add some of what I know from the comic book which is of course where they all came from in the first place.
How did you begin writing in general?
Like I was saying about that story in high school, I had a group of people I was in school with and they were all in the story. Every character was named after someone in my class and I was excited about them all reading it and seeing themselves in it. I knew everyone would love me for portraying them as brave fictional characters and heroes and that we'd forever be friends. So much for fantasies, I never finished the story, they never read it, and I'm not in contact with any of them.
What are you working on now and where do you see it going?
S.O.S. and it has taken some strange turns. It will be reaching a conclusion very soon.
What is your opinion about the following types of L&C fanfic's?
Action?
I like to see some action in any story I read.
Drama?
Drama is the core of any good fictional tale. I think it needs to be dramatic in order to keep a reader n teh edge of their seat.
Humor?
I love reading parts in stories that are funny. It has always amazed me that certain people have the ability to write something that makes me laugh out loud.
Round Robin?
Nfic?
Has *everything* been done in your opinion, and if not, what is left?
What do you think makes the best story?
I think the best story should have drama, action, romance and humor. It should be as realistic as it can be in whatever world or universe it's been set. The characters should behave the way you might expect them to and the readere should develop a concern for those characters.
Would you like to add a link or URL to your favorite fanfic for the readers to sample your writing?
I can't seem to get the search function to work on the boards right now but S.O.S. can be found at bluetights.com.
Where is the best place for a reader to locate your work?
Bluetights.com on the fanfic boards. I will soon be submitting it to the archives.
