Lois and Clark or Superman Status
How long have you been watching L&C?
I started watching occasionally during the second season on ABC. Watched intermittently through and, 3rd and 4th seasons when I could find it and remembered it was on. In December of 1999 I caught it again on TNT and was rehooked. Eventually found my way to the web and fanfic.
How long have you been a fan of Superman?
Oh gee, about as long as I can remember. I used to occasionally read the comics and I loved the Christopher Reeve movies.
How long have you been writing?
I've been writing for a while, mostly for school. My English teachers always told me I had a lot of potential and liked my writing. I started writing for myself Junior year of High School and have started several stories since then, sadly I rarely completed a work until LnC fanfic.
How long have you been writing L&C fanfic?
I started in August of 2000, after my first time on IRC when I talked to Chrispat about my idea which became The Exodus. I'd been thinking about it for a while, but I never thought I'd write fanfic until I couldn't sleep that night and banged out the start of The Exodus.
What types of Fanfic have you written?
So far, I've written ones set in the past; The Exodus is a story about Kryptonians being native to a planet with a yellow sun like Earth and moving to Krypton to suppress their powers. The second in the series is about Jor-El and Lara preparing to send Kal-El to Earth and I have a third planned which you'll have to read to find out what it's about, after I get it written ;). Also, I've written an alternate ending to Sex, Lies, and Videotape where Superman revealed to the world he was Clark Kent. I also am working on a rewrite of Double Jeopardy and Seconds where Clark identifies himself as Kent and Wanda goes off with him.
Most recent story posted? Where?
Exodus II: Earthbound is currently being posted on Zoom's boards.
Favorite story you have written? Why?
Oh this is a toughie. I really like Sex, Truth, and Revelation because I like the speech Clark gives and the other little bits I gave, but The Exodus is what started it all and I like the idea I had. Really while I'm writing a story I really like it or I wouldn't continue. I'm not sure how to answer this, maybe after I write more I'll have a favorite ;).
Current project/projects?
Well I'm still working on Exodus II: Earthbound as I mentioned as well as Second Thoughts, the Double Jeopardy and Seconds rewrite already mentioned.
Personal picks of other Fanfics you have read?
Oh there's just too many. How can I pick a few and not feel I left someone out. I don't think I can really answer this one ;).
General Interview Questions:
What attracted you to writing Fanfic and what about it do you enjoy?
I just had the idea, couldn't sleep for thinking about how it'd go so I got up and started writing it. I like writing, it can be very fun though it's very frustrating at times. Getting feedback is great, knowing that people are reading and enjoying your work.
What about the L&C and the characters do you like the most?
I like the fact that Clark Kent was very human and easy to relate to, unlike the more godlike ones out there. I'm a romantic sap so the romance of the series was great. I've always liked Superman because he had so much power and rather then let it corrupt him and use it only for personal gain he uses it to help others. I like that Lois is a strong, independent, intelligent woman too.
How do you interpret them in your work?
Well I haven't really written much involving them, but I do plan to use them more in the future. I hope I can do the character's justice.
How did you begin writing in general?
Oh, I'm not sure, probably was told to for school ;).
How do you feel about being nominated for a Kerth Award?
Haven't been but maybe, just maybe, I will be in 2002, the first year I'll be eligible ;)
What are you working on now and where do you see it going?
I've already mentioned my current projects, so look up there ;).
What is your opinion about the following types of L&C fanfic's?
Action?
Action is good, but a long all-action fic probably wouldn't hold my attention I like a mix of things, especially with romance.
Drama?
If I'm in the right mood, a good drama can be very satisfying. These are often much harder to read than other fics because of tough issues involved.
Humor?
Sometimes a nice short story that makes you laugh is just what you need, but a steady diet would be unfulfilling ;)
Round Robin?
These are fun but a bit disjointed to read.
Nfic?
Nfic isn't what I expected it to be here. Most of it is done tastefully and only a part of a story, which I like.
Has everything been done in your opinion, and if not, what is left?
No not everything has been done, why just look at my first story. Nothing like that has been done before and I like to think that my other works are fairly unique too ;). If I knew what was left I'd tell ya but until someone does it I don't know what is left.
What do you think makes the best story?
Many, Many things go into making a story great. For me a nice involved B-plot, intertwined with a good a-plot, characterization that works for me and the premise all go into it.
Would you like to add a link or URL to your favorite fanfic for the readers to sample your writing?

Where is the best place for a reader to locate your work?
The fanfic archive or Anne's archive are good places to find my finished work.
